Puttur: In a swift breakthrough, Puttur Rural Police have arrested a suspect in a house burglary case reported on August 12, involving the theft of 30 grams of gold ornaments and ₹5,000 cash.
The case, registered under Crime No. 83/2025 as per Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, led to the arrest of 29-year-old Dayanand Naik M, a resident of Nettanige Muduru village. He was apprehended at Eshwaramangala, Puttur, and police recovered 30.120 grams of gold along with the Discovery bike allegedly used in the crime.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Arun Nagegowda lauded the efforts of his team, stating: “The operation was carried out with precision under close supervision, ensuring quick justice.” Inspector Ravi B S added that the arrest and recovery reflected the police department’s strong commitment to public safety and crime prevention.
The successful operation was spearheaded by Sub-Inspector Jamburaj Mahajan and supported by ASI Chandrashekar, head constables Praveen, Madhu, Harish, Subrahmanya, police constables Akash, Yuvaraj, Sharanappa Patil, and drivers Yajna, Hariprasad, and Nitesh.
Investigations are still underway as police continue efforts to trace any additional links and ensure that all responsible are brought to justice.
