Puttur two-wheeler rider dies in lorry collision, investigation underway

A tragic accident occurred in Puttur city on Saturday morning when a lorry collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of Francis Lewis, a 74-year-old rider from Kemminje, on the main road near Mai De Deus Church.

Reports reveal that Francis Lewis was riding his Activa scooter from Kemminje towards the church when the lorry, traveling from Darbe towards Mangaluru, struck his scooter from behind. The impact left Francis Lewis with severe injuries. He was rushed to a hospital in Puttur by Deputy Mayor Balachandra Kemminje and others, and later transferred to a private hospital in Mangaluru for specialized treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

A case has been filed by Joseph D’Souza at the Puttur Traffic Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
