On Monday morning, a fire broke out at Shivam Electronics and Communications Center on Market Road in Karkala. The incident was quickly brought under control by the Karkala Fire Brigade, preventing a potential major disaster.

The fire started when the shop’s switchboard caught flames. The blaze was detected as the shop door was being opened, with smoke and the smell of burning filling the area.

Fire officer Albert Monisa, Deputy Fire Officer K Chandrashekar, and Lead Fire Fighter Hariprasad Shettigar led the operation to extinguish the flames. They were supported by team members Ganesh Acharya, Basavaraju Nirvani, and driver Sanjay. Their swift and coordinated response ensured that the fire was contained and extinguished before it could spread further.

The quick intervention of the fire brigade is credited with preventing extensive damage and ensuring the safety of nearby properties. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the prompt actions of the fire department played a crucial role in minimizing the impact of the incident.
