On Tuesday, August 13, an auto driver was severely injured in a collision with a Mahindra pickup truck carrying gas cylinders near Ashirwad Junction, Santhekatte, Udupi. The driver suffered critical injuries to his head, hands, and legs. Despite the severity of the accident, no bystanders initially stepped forward to help.
However, Burhan Malpe, the driver of a Mangaluru-based Brothers Tourist bus, and Naveen from Hanuman Nagar, who were traveling towards Udupi, acted swiftly upon seeing the injured man. They stopped their bus and, moved by the sight of the critically injured driver, immediately transported him to District Hospital Ajjarakadu, Udupi. Their timely intervention exemplified remarkable humanity and quick thinking.
