Reckless Driving Causes Mini Bus Collision, Sixteen Injured In Udupi

Sixteen people sustained injuries when a mini-bus carrying 19 tourists from Tamil Nadu collided with a parked truck at Udyavara, Udupi. The group was en route to Kollur Mookambika Temple when the bus reportedly hit the truck due to alleged reckless driving by the driver. The collision heavily damaged the bus’s front and the truck’s rear.

The injured include Sabu Karunakaran (53), Niranjana (17), Seeba (45), Beena (43), Seeba Beeju (45), Nisha (43), Tamilmani (33), Savida (31), Ramachandra (56), Govindan (62), Rameshan (52), Neeraja (28), Rijesh (36), young Esha Karthik (3.5 years), Maya (46), and Jayaprakash (50). Maya and Jayaprakash reportedly sustained serious injuries.

Local residents promptly aided the victims and transported them to a hospital in Udupi. The Kaup Police Station has registered a case under sections 281, 125(a), and 125(b) of the BNS to investigate further.
