On June 30, Dharnappa Kulal (74) of Antara, Narikombu village, tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident that occurred on February 14 in Mogarnad. Despite extensive medical efforts, his condition did not improve, and he returned home a month ago. The incident is under investigation at the Bantwal rural police station.

Dharnappa was renowned as the founder of Sri Kodandarama Bajana Mandir and a prominent Bhajan singer. He dedicatedly served at Antara Sri Nalkathaya Panjurli Daivastana and was esteemed as a progressive farmer. His passing has deeply saddened the community, leaving behind his wife, daughter, and two sons.
