
Robotic Butterfly Show Inaugurated at Kadri Park as Part of Karavali Utsava
Mangaluru: The ‘Robotic Butterfly Show’ was inaugurated at Kadri Park on Sunday, December 22, by MLA Vedavyas Kamath and MLC Ivan D’Souza as part of the month-long Karavali Utsava, which runs from December 21 to January 19.
The exhibition, which is open daily from 4 pm to 9 pm, showcases robotic butterflies, ants, and dragonflies, offering a unique learning opportunity for children to explore various species in an interactive way.
Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, speaking at the inauguration, mentioned, “This is the first time a robotic butterfly show is being held as part of Karavali Utsava. It offers children the chance to see robotic representations of butterflies, ants, and dragonflies, helping them recognize and appreciate these species.”
The exhibition has an entry fee, with concessions available for children. The Karavali Utsava also includes a range of events scheduled throughout the month:
- Dec 21–31: Helitaxi at Maryhill Helipad (Rs 4500 per head)
- Dec 28–29: Two-day Beach Festival at Tannirbhavi and Panambur beaches
- Dec 22–Jan 19: Robotic Butterfly Exhibition at Kadri Park (4 PM to 9 PM)
- Jan 4–5: Automobile and Dog Show
- Jan 11–12: Yuva Utsava at Kadri Park, promoting youth participation
- Jan 18–19: International Kite Festival at Tannirbhavi Beach
The event was also attended by several dignitaries, including additional deputy commissioner Dr Santhosh Kumar G, assistant commissioner Harshvardhan, Beary Sahitya Academy president Umar U H, and Tulu Sahitya Academy president Tharnath Gatty Kapikad.
