In a remarkable display of bravery, Railway Protection Force (RPF) Head Constable M Raghavan saved a passenger who fell between a moving train and the platform at Mangaluru Junction. The incident occurred around 21:35 hours as Train No. 16346 Netravathi Express was departing from platform No. 1.
The passenger, identified as Sasang, attempted to board the moving train but lost his balance, slipping into the dangerous gap between the train and the platform. M Raghavan, who was on duty nearby, immediately noticed the fall and sprang into action. Without a moment’s hesitation, he rushed to the scene, grabbed Sasang’s hand, and pulled him to safety, averting what could have been a fatal accident.
Sasang, who was traveling to Lokmanya Tilak Terminal with PNR No. 4302526291 and seated in coach S2 at berth 3, expressed his deep gratitude for Raghavan’s quick and courageous response. This heroic act highlights the crucial role railway personnel play in ensuring the safety and security of passengers.
