Rs 5 Lakh Compensation Handed Over To Family Of Electrocution Victim

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader and MLC Ivan D’Souza handed over a Rs 5 lakh cheque from Mescom to the family of Raju, an auto-rickshaw driver who was tragically electrocuted near Rosario High School. The presentation took place at the Circuit House in the city on Monday.

During the event, MLC Ivan D’Souza directed Padmavati, the Managing Director of Mescom, to take the necessary steps to provide an additional Rs 5 lakh in compensation to the family of another victim once the required documents are submitted. This gesture underscores the commitment of local authorities to support the families affected by such tragic incidents.

The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including Mamata Gatty, President of the Cashew Development Corporation, Sadashiva Ullala, President of MUDA, and Vasant Shetty, President of the Rickshaw Drivers’ Association. Other notable attendees included Rajesh Veeranagara, Ganesh Ullala, Bharat Kumar, Habibullah, and Aliston, among others.

This compensation aims to provide some relief to the grieving families and highlights the importance of safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The authorities continue to emphasize the need for stringent safety protocols to protect the lives of citizens.
