Mangaluru: Marking International Childhood Cancer Day, Sapling Multi Ventures Private Limited stepped into the paediatric wards of KMC Hospital Attavar as part of a special outreach programme themed “Demonstrating impact; from challenge to change.” The initiative brought together healthcare professionals, artists, community partners, and volunteers to create moments of warmth and joy for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Business for Purpose in Action
Sapling participated in the programme in collaboration with Storyfy, aligning with its philosophy of “Business for Purpose.” The hospital’s outreach was supported by Land Trades as programme sponsor, along with organisations such as Jewel Group, Cesde Cancer Care Centre, Indian Cancer Society, and Tapasya Foundation, all contributing toward making cancer treatment more accessible for children.

Two days earlier, Sapling had come on board as Title Sponsor for Storyfy’s Masala Live Band Concert at Sooryawoods, Maroli, an event that drew over 1,500 attendees and channelled community support toward childhood cancer awareness and fundraising.
Inside the Wards
The hospital programme featured distinguished guests including Ms Remona Evette Pereira, Golden Book of World Records holder and Bharatanatyam dancer, and Shri Vismaya Vinayak, Tulu film actor and artist. Guests of Honour included Dr B Unnikrishnan, Dean of KMC Mangalore, and Dr Sudhakar Kantipudi, COO of Teaching Hospitals at MAHE.

Medical leadership at the event included Dr Chakrapani M, Medical Superintendent, Dr Harsha Prasada L, Consultant Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist, and Dr Sucheta Rao, Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics.
Beyond the formal proceedings, the focus remained on the children. The Storyfy team, including RJ Ajay, engaged young patients with games, laughter, and interactive activities. Thoughtfully selected gifts were distributed, creating moments of happiness and human connection within the hospital environment.
Sapling expressed gratitude to KMC Hospital Attavar for creating space for community participation and compassion within clinical care.

A Name Rooted in Nurturing
The initiative reflects Sapling’s broader mission of nurturing ecosystems—paralleling the early-stage support required both in entrepreneurship and in human resilience. The organisation supports ventures including Storyfy Events, Sierra Learning Academy, Synterra, Fine Feathers, and Sipsome, each aligned to community-centric growth.

According to a company spokesperson, sustainable progress is built when ecosystems centre around people, purpose, and compassion. The outreach marks the beginning of Sapling’s continued commitment to integrating social responsibility into its operational identity.

Looking Ahead
For Sapling Multi Ventures, this engagement signals the start of a long-term approach where growth and giving are complementary priorities. The initiative underscores a growing movement among emerging business ecosystem builders who see social impact as integral—not incidental—to success.
On International Childhood Cancer Day, the hospital wards of KMC Attavar became a reminder that community, empathy, and shared responsibility remain powerful forces in healing.
