Mangaluru — The Silicon Beach Programme (SBP), an initiative to strengthen the coastal Karnataka economy through technology, has launched ‘HomeComing’, an online platform designed to connect experienced software professionals with companies in the region.

At the launch, SBP convenor and founder of Wrkwrk, 99Games, and Robosoft, Rohith Bhat, said that one of the biggest hurdles for firms in coastal Karnataka has been attracting seasoned talent. “This platform bridges the gap by linking skilled professionals who wish to return home with local employers seeking expertise,” he explained.

The portal — www.siliconbeachprogram.com/homecoming — currently features 542 job openings from 43 companies, enabling metro-based professionals to explore regional opportunities while helping employers access a pre-qualified talent pool. Bhat added that more firms are expected to sign up soon.

Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta, while launching the portal, noted that Mangaluru was recently ranked the safest city in India. He urged Mangaloreans to return and contribute to the area’s growth. Highlighting his ‘Back to Ooru’ programme, he encouraged those living overseas to invest and establish businesses locally. Chowta also appealed to the State government to harness the talent and potential of coastal Karnataka to accelerate development.

Chetan Dixit, Vice-President of Beyond Bengaluru, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, and Shyamprasad Hebbar, Chief People Services Officer of unifyCX, also spoke at the event.
