Mangaluru: In honour of Dr B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, St Agnes School (CBSE), Bendore, held a solemn and meaningful Ambedkar Jayanthi celebration on April 14, reflecting on the visionary leader’s enduring legacy.
The commemorative event began with a special assembly, where students invoked divine blessings through a serene prayer, anchoring the programme in the values of justice, equality, and unity. A floral tribute was then offered to Dr Ambedkar’s portrait by Principal Sr Maria Sarika AC, Vice Principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC, Sr Reshma D’Souza, teacher Nisha Fernandes, and ASPL Cleona Saldanha.
Shannon Saldanha delivered a brief yet impactful speech, emphasizing Dr Ambedkar’s role as a tireless advocate for the marginalized and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. The message was further amplified by Vice Principal Sr Meena Fernandes AC, who urged students to draw inspiration from Ambedkar’s commitment to social reform and constitutional values. She called upon the youth to be empathetic, responsible, and engaged citizens.
The ceremony culminated with a collective recitation of the Preamble followed by the National Anthem, instilling a deep sense of national pride and civic awareness among students and staff.
The event stood as a meaningful reminder of Dr Ambedkar’s ideals, inspiring all to uphold his vision of a just and inclusive India.
