Mangaluru: St. Aloysius Institutions, in association with the St. Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA), conferred the Eminent Aloysian Alumni Award 2025 on five distinguished achievers in a ceremony held at Fr. L. F. Rasquinha Hall on March 8.

Honourees and their contributions

The award was presented to:

  • Kanyadi Sadashiva Shetty, Chairman & Executive Director, Heranba Industries Ltd.
  • Lucy Mariappa, CIO of the Year Award recipient.
  • Dr. Gurukiran Shetty, renowned music director.
  • Dr. Oscar G. Concessao, international award-winning architect.
  • James Vincent Mendonca, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Address by dignitaries

Dr. Praveen Martis, Vice Chancellor of St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), commended the awardees for their contributions. He also announced plans to launch a School of Law in 2025 and an engineering programme, along with two new buildings at the Centenary Grounds.

Rector Fr. Melwin Pinto expressed pride in the alumni and their perseverance, calling it a “homecoming” for them.
