Mangaluru: On August 15th, 2024, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at 9 a.m. on the college premises. Mr. Pradeep Dsouza, D.K. District Skill Development Officer, was the Chief Guest for the program. Rev. Fr. John Dsouza SJ, Director of St Aloysius ITI, presided over the program as the President. Mr. Roshan Dsouza, Principal; Mr. Alwyn Menezes, Vice Principal; Mr. Noel Lobo, Training Officer; and Mr. Manjunath Rao, Convenor of the program, were also present. Staff members and students attended the event.

The Chief Guest hoisted the tricolour National Flag, and the gathering showed respect by saluting and singing the National Anthem.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, saying, “It is a memorable day for all of us as proud Indians. This day was made possible by the selfless sacrifices of our freedom fighters and great leaders. We have opportunities to exercise our freedom, and we must do so with responsibility. We must make our nation ‘Naash Mukht Bharath’ and keep our surroundings clean. This will show our love for the nation.”

A patriotic song was sung by the Electrician 1st-year students.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Manjunath, a student of Electrician 1st year, who also compered the program.
