Mangaluru: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru hosted the grand inaugural of its much-awaited TIARA’25 techno-cultural fest on 13 and 14 November 2025 at the college campus. The colourful two-day celebration began with an energetic and vibrant opening ceremony at the SJEC Basketball Court.

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by a high-energy flash mob performance by students, setting an enthusiastic tone for the fest. The event was inaugurated by Mr Shivakumar G. K., VP–Operations, Invenger Technologies, who served as the Chief Guest.

Leadership and dignitaries at the inaugural

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC.
Rev. Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta, Assistant Director, was the Guest of Honour.
Other dignitaries present included Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal; Dr Purushottama Chippar, Vice Principal; Ms Priya Miranda and Mr Sachin U, Convenors of TIARA’25; and Mr Suhas L Karinja and Ms Srishti Jalan, Student Convenors of TIARA’25.

Technology, creativity, and human values highlighted

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr Shivakumar G. K. emphasised that TIARA’25 serves as a platform for students to learn, innovate, and showcase their creative thinking. He highlighted the rapid evolution of technology driven by Artificial Intelligence and urged students to remain curious and adaptive.
He also reminded aspiring engineers to stay mindful of the human aspect of technology, ensuring that innovation ultimately benefits society.

Two days of events, performances, and talent showcase

TIARA’25 features a host of technical, non-technical, and cultural events, attracting participants from across the region. The fest celebrates innovation, creativity, and collaboration through competitions, performances, and interactive activities.

Major attractions of the fest include GROOVE, a thrilling spin-the-disc event, followed by a musical performance by Route 96. The second day of the fest will feature the cultural showcase and award ceremony, culminating with Tech Night by SWATTREX.

The grand opening of TIARA’25 marked the beginning of two days filled with energy, creativity, and student innovation, reflecting the technical excellence and vibrant cultural spirit of SJEC.
