Puttur: The NCC units of St Philomena Autonomous College and St Philomena Pre-University College celebrated the 76th NCC Day with a noble initiative by organising a blood donation drive at the Rotary Campco Blood Centre, Puttur. The event reflected the cadets’ commitment to service and community welfare.
A day of service and dedication
The blood donation camp was conducted under the guidance of Captain Johnson David Sequeira of the Army Wing and Tejasvi Bhatt of the Naval Wing. The cadets, trained and supervised by the officers, contributed to this life-saving initiative with enthusiasm. The medical team, led by Dr Ramachandra and head nurse Sajani Martis, ensured the smooth execution of the drive, which saw commendable participation.
Recognising selfless efforts
Rtn. Oscar Anand, former Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3181, attended the event and praised the cadets for their altruism. He emphasised that blood donation is an act of humanity and a significant contribution to saving lives.
Principals Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro of St Philomena Autonomous College and Rev. Ashok Ryan Crasta of St Philomena Pre-University College lauded the initiative, highlighting the role of the NCC in fostering discipline, selflessness, and service in young minds.
