Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Commissioner has issued traffic restrictions in Surathkal to facilitate the concretisation work on the railway overbridge located on MRPL Road. The project, funded by ₹78 lakh from the Mangaluru City Corporation, is expected to enhance infrastructure but requires temporary adjustments to vehicle movement in the area.
Alternative Routes Suggested
Residents and motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the construction period. Key diversions include:
- Commuters traveling to Chokkabettu Road near Suraj Hotel.
- Those heading from Mangaluru are redirected via Kulai Kana Road.
Appeal for Cooperation
Dr. Bharath Shetty Y, the local MLA, has urged citizens to cooperate with the authorities during this period, emphasizing the temporary inconvenience for long-term benefits. “The concretisation work is necessary, and we request everyone to adjust their travel plans accordingly for a couple of months,” he said.
Enhancing Road Infrastructure
This initiative is part of the broader efforts to improve connectivity and safety in Mangaluru. The work will result in better quality roads, easing transportation challenges in the region once completed.
Residents are encouraged to follow the updates and adhere to the suggested traffic diversions for smoother implementation of the project.
