Mangaluru: Sri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Gurupur Vajradehi Math cautioned that harming the sanctity of a holy place is equivalent to destroying the very temple itself.
He expressed concern over a recent incident where an unidentified person was allegedly stabbed inside a revered religious site. Shockingly, despite the removal of 16 nails, none were reportedly recovered. Swamiji noted that such suspicious and fabricated incidents are not confined to one location. “Tomorrow, similar false conspiracies could target sacred centers in Udupi, Sringeri, Nanjangud, or other pilgrimage destinations,” he warned.
Highlighting the seriousness of the matter, Swamiji stated that any misconduct within temple premises is an assault on its sacredness. He stressed the need for collective awareness and action to ensure such deceitful acts are exposed. “Our mission must not end until the truth is uncovered, and those responsible are identified, arrested, and punished in accordance with the law,” he asserted.
Calling for unity, Swamiji urged people from all walks of life to stand together in defense of religious values and India’s rich cultural traditions. “The protection of our faith and heritage is a shared responsibility. If we remain silent today, the danger will only grow tomorrow,” he added.
The spiritual leader’s statement serves as a call to action for both devotees and authorities to safeguard the sanctity of sacred spaces against conspiracies that aim to create unrest and division.
