Bantwala: A case has been registered at the Bantwala city police station concerning provocative statements and challenge messages related to the upcoming Eid Milad rally. In response, police have increased security in sensitive areas following the circulation of inflammatory voice messages and chats on social media.

Former Bantwala Municipality President Muhammad Sharif and member Hasinar have been booked for making provocative statements. A voice message allegedly challenging Hindu leaders and organisations has gone viral, prompting complaints about attempts to disrupt communal harmony.

Dakshina Kannada District Superintendent of Police, Yatish N., has been urged to arrest Muhammad Sharif, who is accused of inciting communal unrest through social media. MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguttu has also requested police action against Sharif, a known rowdy sheeter.

Tensions have risen ahead of the Eid Milad rally, with some groups calling for its cancellation. MLA Y. Bharat Shetty has urged the police department to cancel the procession, citing concerns over potential unrest. The police are actively working to maintain peace and order in the region.
