
Thieves Steal Gold, Cash, and Pet Dog in Agari Break-In
In a burglary at Agari, Kolnad village, Bantwal taluk, thieves broke into the house of Jagannath and stole gold jewellery, cash, and even a pet dog while the family was away visiting relatives.
The incident occurred at the residence of Jagannath, who was working abroad. His wife, Vijaya Jagannath, and their two children had traveled to her parental home in Panchody, Ishwaramangala. Upon their return on August 4, they discovered the break-in.
The thieves gained entry by forcibly breaking the front door lock with a tool. Inside, they accessed an iron cupboard in the bedroom and managed to break open a locker. The stolen items include 34 grams of gold and Rs 6,000 in cash, totaling an estimated Rs 1,42,000. Additionally, a pet dog was reported missing.
Vijaya Jagannath reported the theft to the Vittal police station. The Vittal police have conducted a site visit, collected information, and called in a dog squad to aid in the investigation. Further details regarding the missing dog and any leads on the suspects are awaited.
