Belthangady, May 23, 2024: Thieves targeted two houses in Palke, Thenka Karandur village, making off with a total of 24 sovereigns of jewelry.

In the first incident, the burglars broke into Prema Shetty’s house by forcing open the back door. They pilfered 20 sovereigns of jewelry and a bag of documents from a cupboard, despite family members being asleep nearby.
In a separate incident nearby, thieves absconded with four sovereigns of jewelry from another house. The occupants were absent, participating in a Bhootha Kola ceremony when the theft occurred.
