
Thieves Target Home in Kadaba; Fatal Car Accident Near Bantwal
In Kadaba, thieves allegedly broke into Saleem K’s house in Savanoor village while his family was on vacation. Saleem, 39, had locked the house on October 11 and left for a trip with his wife and children. Upon their return on October 13, they found the front door’s lock broken. Inside, a wardrobe had been forced open, with clothes strewn across the room. The stolen valuables included 53 grams of gold jewelry worth Rs 2.1 lakh, a tab, a watch, and Rs 30,000 in cash. The Bellare police have registered a case and are investigating.
In a separate incident, Bhagirathi, 62, tragically lost her life in a car accident near Bantwal on October 14. Rupesh, 29, was driving from Tumakuru to Mangaluru with Bhagirathi, her daughter Suchitra, 32, and her grandson Dhanvish, 3, when he allegedly dozed off, causing the car to overturn into an areca plantation. While Suchitra and Rupesh sustained injuries, Bhagirathi died en route to the hospital. Dhanvish escaped unharmed. A case has been filed at the Bantwal Traffic police station.
