The Toastmasters District 121 Annual Conference Crescendo100@Kudla concluded on Sunday, May 18, at The Avatar Hotel Convention Centre, Mangaluru, marking the end of an inspiring three-day celebration of communication, leadership and community spirit. The closing ceremony captured the energy, learning and camaraderie that defined the entire event, which brought together over 425 delegates from across Karnataka and Kerala.
Graced by Toastmasters leaders, dignitaries, and enthusiastic members, the ceremony featured prize distributions, thanksgiving and valedictory addresses. Contest winners across multiple categories were honoured, receiving standing ovations for their stellar performances in the District-level International Speech, Evaluation and Table Topics contests.
Contest Chair Safeer Azeez announced the results of the speech contests. In the International Speech Contest, Thomas Paul secured first place, followed by Hariraj Madhav Rajendran in second and Akshay Abraham Oommen in third. Thomas Paul will now represent District 121 in the upcoming Quarterfinals.
In the Evaluation Speech Contest, Nikhil H. S. claimed the top spot, while Akshay Abraham Oommen and Neil Antony Gonsalves came in second and third respectively. The Table Topics Contest (impromptu speaking) saw Shalini Mukund emerge as the winner, followed by Ehab Fysel and Kalidasan Shanmugakani in second and third places.
Crescendo100@Kudla was inaugurated on Friday, May 16, with renowned Sri Lankan orator and 2014 World Champion of Public Speaking Dananjaya Hettiarachchi delivering the keynote address. Pawas Chandra, International Director for Region 13 (India and Southeast Asia), was the Guest of Honour.
Other prominent speakers over the three days included design thinking expert Saveen Hegde, entrepreneur Anushka Jaisinghani, business leader K. Ullas Kamath, and acclaimed magician Junior Shankar, who enriched the conference with valuable insights from their respective professional domains.
District Director Savita Salian, Conference Chair Amith Ananda, and Co-Chair Pandiarajan R. expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizing team, volunteers, and delegates for making the event a success.
