On April 8, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P felicitated two outstanding students from the district who secured first rank at the state level in the II PUC examinations. Deepashree, from Canara Pre-University College, topped the commerce stream, while Amoolya Kamath, from Expert College, emerged as the state topper in the science stream.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, with Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. K Anand also present to congratulate the students. The event celebrated their remarkable academic achievements following the announcement of the II PUC results.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner took the opportunity to engage with the students, discussing their study habits, learning strategies, and the commitment that led to their success.

The event was also attended by Amoolya Kamath’s parents, Dr. Dinesh Kamath and Dr. Anuradha Kamath, as well as Deepashree’s parents, Ashok S and Suma. Other attendees included Sridhar H G, Deputy Director of the Department of Pre-University Education; Nithin Shetty, Department Officer; Latha Maheshwari, Principal of Canara Pre-University College; Ramachandra Bhat, Principal of Expert College; and several other dignitaries.
