A fatal accident occurred at Padua-Nanthoor on Tuesday, July 30, involving a tanker and a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of the scooter rider. The deceased has been identified as Shivanand Shetty, 42, a resident of Kannagudde, Padil.
Shivanand was traveling towards KPT from Nanthoor junction when he attempted to merge onto the road from the footpath. At that moment, Sunith K, the driver of a tanker, approached negligently from Nanthoor towards KPT and struck the right side of Shivanand’s scooter. The impact caused Shivanand to fall onto the road, and the tanker’s rear left tire tragically ran over his head, killing him instantly. The body was subsequently taken to Wenlock Hospital.
Shivanand Shetty was employed at a watch parts factory in Kannur. A case has been registered at the Traffic East Police Station.
