Tragic Accident in Puttur: Grandmother & Grandson Lose Lives

Mangaluru: A devastating accident in Puttur claimed the lives of two family members when an autorickshaw collided with a KSRTC bus on Sunday evening. The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Zameela and her five-year-old grandson, Tadveer.

As per police reports, the incident occurred at Manjalpadpu in Kabaka when the autorickshaw, carrying five passengers including the driver, attempted to overtake another vehicle. The maneuver led to the autorickshaw overturning and crashing into an oncoming KSRTC bus. The family was reportedly returning from Mangaluru at the time of the mishap.

Three other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care at a hospital. Authorities have registered a case at Puttur Traffic Police Station and are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
