In a significant bust led by ACP Dhanya Nayak and the anti-drug squad, three men accused of trafficking the prohibited substance MDMA were detained near Kambalapadavu in Pajir village.

The detainees include Gautam (22), a resident of Mary Church compound, Talapady; Karthik (27) from Hanuman Temple vicinity, Kumpala; and Nikhil (28), who hails from Ganesh Nagar near Ganesh Temple, Thokkotu.

Authorities confiscated 50 grams of MDMA, estimated at Rs 1.5 lakh, along with a vehicle allegedly used for distribution, three smartphones, a digital scale, and a glass pipe. The total value of seized materials is pegged at Rs 7,76,980, as per police reports.

The trio was intercepted at an isolated industrial spot in Pajir, under Konaje police station’s jurisdiction. The suspects were reportedly caught in the act, with drugs in their possession inside the car. A formal case has been lodged at the Konaje police station for further investigation.

This operation underscores the police’s commitment to clamping down on illegal drug trade and protecting communities from its harmful effects.
