Mangaluru: The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy is set to host the second event of its Tulu literature reading campaign, ‘A Day in Academy: Let’s Read Tulu’, on Thursday. The initiative aims to foster an interest in reading Tulu literature among college students by inviting them to the academy’s library.
A group of 50 students from Yenepoya College in Kuloor will participate in this event. The program will begin at 10 AM with the inauguration by senior Tulu playwright and writer, Paramananda Salian. During the event, the academy’s quarterly magazine, ‘Madipu’, will also be released. Mangalore Press Club President PB Harish Rai will release the new edition of ‘Madipu’.
Tharanath Gatti Kapikad, President of the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, will preside over the event. Other notable guests include Yenepoya College Assistant Professor Niyaz P, academy members Raviraj Suvarna from Mumbai, and Nagesh Kumar Udyavar.
Kapikad shared that throughout the day, students will engage in reading and discussions at the academy library. They will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences about the literature they read in the evening.
