Tumbe: Two scientists from the Geological Survey of India (GSI) have conducted a thorough investigation of recent landslides in Tumbe, Gudde, Ammunje, and parts of Vittal in the taluk. Over the past three days, the team has been inspecting the affected areas to understand the causes and impact of these landslides.

Tahsildar Archana Bhat reported that the GSI scientists are in the process of assessing the situation and will submit their findings to the deputy commissioner. The next steps will be based on their recommendations. The investigation aims to determine the factors contributing to the landslides and to plan appropriate responses.

District Disaster Management Authority’s technical advisor Vijay Kumar, senior geologists Senthil Kumar and Sowesh, junior engineer Yashwant, along with revenue inspectors Vijay and Janardhan, village administrative officer Karibasappa, and revenue department staff member Sadashiva Kaikamba, were present during the visit.

Further actions will be determined once the GSI’s report is reviewed.
