Mangaluru: Kavoor and Bunder police have apprehended two individuals on charges of consuming drugs in public spaces.

In the first incident, Tilak Raj (29), a resident of Urwa, was taken into custody while consuming drugs at a public ground in Panjimogaru Urundadi Gudde. In another case, Mohammad Shamil (22), originally from Kerala and living in Maroli, was arrested near Bavutagudde for similar offenses.

The police continue their efforts to crack down on illegal drug usage in public areas, ensuring stricter enforcement of laws to maintain public order and safety. Both individuals are under investigation, and further legal proceedings are expected to follow.

The arrests come as part of the ongoing push by local authorities to combat substance abuse in the city, with a focus on preventing such activities from happening in public spaces.
