Two people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Bantwal taluk on Thursday.
In the first incident, Rajendra, a two-wheeler rider, succumbed to injuries after colliding with a KSRTC bus at Bambila Barike on the Kadur-BC Road national highway. He fell onto the road and sustained severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the government hospital in Bantwal, doctors declared him dead. Bantwal traffic police have registered a case under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS.
In the second incident, Tilaka, a 44-year-old passenger in an autorickshaw, died after a car, driven rashly by Sanjeeva, rammed into the vehicle at Bambila in Kavalapadur. Tilaka fell onto the road and sustained fatal injuries. She was also taken to the government hospital in Bantwal but was pronounced dead upon arrival. A case has been registered under Sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of the BNS.
