Mangaluru: The Kannada film industry is buzzing with excitement for the release of Uttarakaanda, set to hit screens in December 2024. Starring Shivarajkumar and Daali Dhananjaya, and directed by Sharath Manjunath and Rohith Padaki, the film has been generating significant anticipation.

The shooting for the first phase of Uttarakaanda concluded in Vijayapura and Belgaum, with additional scenes filmed at the HMT Watch Factory in Bengaluru. The film, inspired by real-life events from North Karnataka as well as fictional elements, has seen enthusiastic responses, particularly from the Vijayapura locals. Although the second phase of shooting is set to begin soon, the locations for this phase remain undisclosed.

The release of Shivarajkumar’s character poster has further fueled excitement. The poster features the 62-year-old actor with bloodied clothes, holding a cigar and displaying intense expressions, capturing fans’ attention.

Initially planned as a single film, Uttarakaanda has evolved into a two-part series exploring the gangs of North Karnataka. The teaser showcasing Daali Dhananjaya’s role as Gabru Sathya received acclaim for its authentic portrayal and regional slang. The delay in shooting was attributed to the filmmakers’ dedication to authentic representation.

The film also features Atul Kulkarni, Bhavana, Aishwarya Rajesh, Vijay Babu, and Diganth in significant roles, with KRG Studios producing. Director Rohith expressed enthusiasm for the film’s launch, emphasizing the extensive planning and preparation involved.
