Vitla: The Vitla police have made a significant breakthrough in a theft case involving 16 borewell pumps worth lakhs of rupees.
A special police team apprehended Muhammad Shakir, a resident of Perabe, Kochakatte in Kadaba taluk, on Wednesday. The arrest was made based on a complaint lodged at the Vitla police station.
During the operation, the police recovered 16 stolen borewell pumps valued at ₹1,81,000 and a vehicle worth ₹2 lakh used in the crime. Two other suspects remain at large.
The successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police S. Vijaya Prasad of the Bantwal Sub-Division and the leadership of Vitla Police Inspector Nagaraj H.
