Mangaluru: The festive spirit is in full swing as News Karnataka gears up for the 5th Annual Christmas Carol Contest, set to commence on December 14, 2024. This much-anticipated event promises an enthralling showcase of musical talent from around the globe.
This year’s event will feature a distinguished panel of judges:
- Mr. Ivan Monteiro – A Mangaluru-based expert who has judged numerous singing competitions and serves as an Independent Director at Spearhead Media Pvt Ltd.
- Ms. Jasmin D’Souza – A talented singer, Choir Master for kids at St. Lawrence Shrine, Bondel, teaching Hindustani singing at Mount Carmel, Pandeshwar and sung for more than 20 devotional albums.
- Dr. Jeevan Lobo – Konkani and English Choir at St Joseph s Cathedral and at Abrahamic Family House.
The event will be hosted by Mr. Roshan Raj, Assistant Professor St. Claret College in the Department of Journalism.
The 5th edition aims to outshine its predecessors, with entries from regions including Mangaluru, Udupi, Mumbai, Thrissur, Bantwal, and even Israel, demonstrating the event’s global reach. Participants will perform virtually, ensuring a blend of local and international voices uniting for the Christmas season.
Through its diverse participants, the contest epitomises the unifying power of music, celebrating Christmas by transcending borders and bringing communities together in harmony.
