The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) is organizing a comprehensive one-day seminar titled Maritime Adversities” on April 11, designed to improve industry readiness, risk awareness, and emergency response protocols in maritime operations.

Scheduled at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Mangaluru, the event will serve as a convergence point for maritime professionals, policy-makers, and safety specialists to tackle sea-bound challenges and explore robust crisis management techniques.

NMPA Chairman Dr. A.V. Ramana will chair the workshop. Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament representing Dakshina Kannada, will inaugurate the session, while Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mullai Muhilan M.P. will participate as the Guest of Honour.

The forum will feature insights from leading maritime authorities including Capt. L.K. Panda, former Nautical Advisor, and Capt. S.I. Abdul Kalam Azad, Additional Director General (Nautical), Directorate General of Shipping.

Under the stewardship of Capt. Manoj Joshi, Deputy Conservator at NMPA, the session will highlight best practices, collaborative efforts, and emergency response frameworks crucial to the maritime ecosystem.

As per the official release, this event is a reflection of NMPA’s enduring dedication to promoting safety consciousness, inter-agency cooperation, and resilient seafaring operations.

By uniting key stakeholders, the workshop aspires to build a more prepared, responsive, and secure maritime environment.
