Mangaluru: As the nation gears up to celebrate Independence Day, the Sanidhya School for Differently-abled has announced a week-long series of competitions and activities aimed at promoting creativity and national pride among its students.

Speaking to the media, school headmaster Vasanth Kumar Shetty shared that the program has been designed not only as a celebration but also as an awareness initiative to inspire and empower children with special needs.

Throughout the week, students will take part in a variety of cultural and creative contests, including flag-making, art displays, singing patriotic songs, and storytelling sessions focused on India’s freedom struggle. The activities aim to encourage participation, teamwork, and self-expression among the children while fostering a spirit of patriotism.

Shetty emphasized that such programs play a vital role in building confidence and social skills for differently-abled students. “Independence Day is a time to remember our freedom fighters and also to reflect on the values they stood for. We want our children to feel proud of their country and express their love for the nation through these events,” he said.

Parents, teachers, and volunteers will join hands to make the celebration special, ensuring an inclusive and joyful atmosphere for all participants. The week will culminate in a flag-hoisting ceremony on August 15, accompanied by a cultural showcase prepared by the students.
