The Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust is set to organize Yakshadhruva Patla Sambhrama-2024 on Sunday, May 26, at Adyar Gardens, Mangaluru. The event aims to promote Yakshagana art forms while also extending support to artists through various welfare initiatives.
Key Announcements and Initiatives:
- Healthcare Assistance: Founder of the Patla Foundation Trust, Patla Satish Shetty, announced that artists participating in the event will receive monetary assistance for healthcare needs. Additionally, their insurance premiums will be covered by the Foundation.
- Event Highlights: The event will feature Mahila Yakshagana performances along with presentations by children and other Yakshagana artists. Notably, cine star Kiccha Sudeep will grace the occasion at 3 pm.
- Encouragement for Children: The Foundation has been actively promoting Yakshagana among children, organizing events to showcase their talent. Last year, nearly 3500 students participated, with 1700 high school students donning Yakshagana costumes and displaying their skills.
- Support for Kambala Teams: In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Foundation has extended its support to Kambala teams as well. Insurance coverage will be provided for approximately 250 buffalo jockeys, covering medical expenses, accidents, and education support for their families.
- Welfare Camps and Honors: Various welfare camps will be organized during the event, offering health check-ups, blood donation camps, and eye check-ups. Renowned personalities, including Ramachandra Hegde, CA Divakar Rao, and Shaila Divakar, will be honored for their contributions to Yakshagana.
- Practical Details: Interested participants are required to bring their Aadhar card and other relevant documents, along with the Aadhar card of their nominee. The Foundation will provide support for ambulance services, cremation, and education expenses for the children of artists.
