A tragic road accident at Mukka Junction on National Highway 66 claimed the life of a young man on Thursday morning. The victim has been identified as Ganesh Devadiga, 27, a resident of Indiranagar in Haleyangadi.
Ganesh was an employee at Panambur Port and was commuting to work on his two-wheeler when the accident took place around 7 a.m. As he approached the Mukka Junction, Ganesh slowed down near a barricade. At that moment, a vehicle traveling behind him crashed into his scooter, leaving him with severe injuries.
He was quickly rushed to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical care. Despite the prompt efforts, doctors declared him dead upon arrival due to the extent of his injuries.
Following the incident, the Mangalore North Traffic Police arrived at the accident site to conduct a thorough inspection. They have since registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision.
The accident has highlighted the dangers posed by sudden barricades on busy highways, emphasizing the need for heightened caution for both drivers and riders in such areas.
Ganesh’s untimely demise has left his family and colleagues in deep shock, reflecting the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures.
