A 23-year-old woman was found “aimlessly roaming” at Mangaluru International Airport on Thursday. Intercepted by airport security, she was safely handed over to the police. According to the Bajpe police, she had traveled from Bengaluru to Mangaluru by road that morning and identified her place of origin as Davanagere.

Her relatives had filed a missing person report in Davanagere four days ago. The police have sent her to the government’s Wenlock hospital. Her relatives have been informed about her safety and are expected to arrive later in the day. The woman is suspected to be battling depression, but the police are awaiting confirmation from doctors.

This is the second such incident at Mangaluru airport recently. On May 14, a woman from Kadri in Mangaluru city was found roaming at the airport and was later reunited with her family thanks to alert security personnel.
