CPI(M): Investigate corruption in Varahi project

Udupi: CPI(M) udupi unit, staged protest near service bus stand against various developmental projects of Udupi district. Secretary of Udupi district unit of CPI(M) K. Shankar addressing the protesters said that DC should investigate the undue delay in completion of Varahi project and the corruption which happened from ages. Karnataka Government approved the project 35 years ago with an initial project cost of Rs.9.43 crores.

They demanded to re-start the project and revive the Brahmavar Cooperative Sugar Factory. The  NH work should be completed at the earliest. Karwar- Bangalore train service should be increased and new trains should be started. Prevention wall for sea erosion should be built permanently.

Under Udyoga Katri Yojana job should be availed, houseless and landless families should be given hand and housing aids, licence should be given to construct houses at villages. They also demanded a solution for the issues related to drinking water in summer.
