Udupi: The Social and Educational Survey or what is more popularly known as the Caste Census was officially inaugurated by Urban Development and Minister District in- charge Vinay Kumar Sorake symbolically released the posters at local MLA Pramod Madwaraj’s Ambalpady residence.
After which MLA Pramod Madwaraj was the first-one in the district to answer the 55 questions to the census surveyor, thus officially opening the survey in the district.
Volakadu Government School teachers asked questions including Political, Social and Educational status.
Vinay Kumar Sorake after inauguration said that in early day’s census used to be caste based census. The intension of the caste based census is to bring Backward Communities to the main stream of society. The Social and Educational Survey will help the government to plan various schemes for the back ward communities.
The enumerators will visit the houses from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The survey is expected to give maximum reservation benefits by the government.
During the inaugural occasion Supriya Pramod, Yuvaraj CMC President, Kumar ADC, Udupi Thasildar Guruprasad and other were present.
