Udupi: The former Congress politician and the Bellary-Mumbai based entrepreneur Gurme Suresh Shetty of Kalathur, Kaup joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of the party workers at the District BJP Office here, on March 19.
Gurme Suresh Shetty while addressing the pressperson justified his shift, he said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inspired me with his pro people programmes towards the nation.”
Modi’s administration is outstanding. He added that “I have joined BJP with my wish and I am self-satisfied to be associated with a pro people party, it is nothing to do with poll ticket”.
He further said that he believes in grass root works. Dr V S Acharya will always be my role model, he added. He stressed that the equation in the politics was the major hurdle that has made him quit congress.
