Mysuru: K. R. Nagar MLA Sa Ra Mahesh from JD (S) alleged that corruption to the tune of crores of rupees while purchasing of bags by former Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, six months ago.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday September 3, Mahesh alleged that the former DC Rohini Sindhuri had purchased 14,71, 458 cloth bags through tender at the rate of Rs. 52 per bag. He said that the actual market price of the bag is just Rs 9.
He said that by purchasing at exorbitant price the State Government incurred Rs. 4.71 crores loss. He said that the total amount does not exceed 1.50 crores for 14 lakh bags if the price is fixed at Rs 9. But the supplier has sent a bill for Rs. 6.18 crores. He said that more than Rs 4.70 crores irregularity took place in the purchasing.
He said that he made these allegations with proof and urged the State Government to take action against the IAS Officer and recover the loss from her. He said the bags supplier is the husband of a KAS officer. He alleged Rohini Sindhuri was keen to supply bags to all Gram Panchayats, City Corporations and Municipalities.
He warned that he would stage dharna in front of State Government Chief Secretary’s Office if he does not take immediate action against Sindhuri.
