Mysuru: Bollywood singers known to enthral the youths over the years will be missed during Dasara – 2017. However, organisers defended the move stating, they had instead gone for quality singers who charged reasonably.
Disclosing the programme schedule at the poster release event, Deputy Commissioner D Randeep said the maximum remuneration being paid to a singer at Yuva Dasara was ?15 Lakh.
Meanwhile, a private firm named Advik Digital Solutions has come forward to install 32 CCTV cameras for free at the Yuva Dasara venue, Maharaja College grounds, said Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannavar at the poster release programme.
The organising committee had approached some top names in the Indian music industry and Bollywood, but they demanded a hefty amount.
“Unable to pay the fee demanded by these artistes, we settled for local and other singers,” Mysore Palace Board (MPB) member said.
The organisers have managed to rope in sponsors for majority of events for Yuva Dasara -2017 and are confident of finding sponsors on other days as well, PAB sources revealed.
Zilla Panchayat CEO P Shivashankar, exuding confidence on finding sponsors said 70 percent of the cultural events to be performed at Mysuru Palace would be sponsored.
