1,524 students remain absent on day one of SSLC exams in Mysuru

Mysuru: The first day of the SSLC examinations passed peacefully without any cases of malpractices being reported in the Mysuru district.

Out of the 37,881 students – 19,519 boys and 18,362 girls – who were supposed to attend the examinations at the 135 examination centres spread across the district, 36,357 students – 18,556 boys and 17,801 girls – appeared for the first language paper on day one. Nearly 1,524 students – 963 boys and 561 girls – were absent from the examinations. In order to keep a tab on malpractices, apart from regular squads, district level and state level squads were pressed into action.

Mamatha, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Mysuru district said, “The exams proceeded peacefully without any incidents of malpractice being reported. No students were found late for the exam i.e. even after the 15 minutes grace time. CCTV cameras were installed at all the 135 examination centres. The distribution of question papers started at 7.30 am. The question papers were dispatched to far off places initially and later to nearby places. The question papers reached all the examination centres by 8.45 am”.

She also mentioned that there is no room for any malpractice or question paper leakage across the district. Mamatha, along with her staff inspected various schools across the district during the examinations.
