Mysuru: A pre-university student reportedly committed suicide by hanging self at his residence after his father refused to give him money to buy crackers.
Gourav (16) from a private college is the deceased.
It is learnt that Gourav had celebrated Deepavali with his family and burst crackers for three days. His father refused to give him money for crackers on the fourth day and asked him to concentrate on studies. A verbal spat ensued between Gourav and his father. Later Gourav, as usual, went to his room.
His mother got apprehensive when he did not come out of the room even after two hours. She informed his father, who rushed to his room and found him hanging.
VV Puram police have registered a case in this regard. Investigation is on.
