Mysuru: A businessman from the city has helped a daily wager in Tamil Nadu, that too unknowingly. The businessman, Harshvardhan Gowda of Gokulam, had transferred Rs 20,000 online to a bank account of a person known to him, on April 21. However, he realized that he transferred the amount to a different account bymistake.
Upon enquiry, the bank informed that the latter bank account belongs to one S V Rachappa at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu. After collecting Rachappa’s cell number, Gowda contacted him. Rachappa turned out to be a native of Shivamogga, whose job had taken him to a neighbouring State. Interestingly, Rachappa was not aware of the blunder, till Gowda told him. Later Gowda sent one of his friends to Krishnagiri to meet Rachappa. He handed over his ATM card to this friend to withdraw the money from his account.
Meanwhile, Gowda learnt from his friend about the pathetic condition of Rachappa’s family who will be in abject poverty. With no job in hand due to lockdown, the family is in a financially dire situation. The couple has a specially-abled child to take care of. Deeply moved, Gowda tells his friend to return the money as a gesture of help. Taken aback, joy knew no bounds for Rachappa who wholeheartedly thanked the good samaritans Gowda and his friend. For Gowda, it was the satisfaction of helping the right person at the right moment.
