Mysuru: A weeklong film festival organised by the State Information and Broadcasting Department was inaugurated by Additional Commissioner (Administration & Development) S J Somashekar on January 27 at Olympia theatre.
Movies that have won awards at state and national levels will be screened for public at 10.30 pm every morning free of cost with a view to encourage the local film industry.
Five Kannada films which gained prominence after 2015 will be shown during the next 7 days. Maithri on January 27, Shivayogi Sri Puttayajja on January 28 followed by movies Thithi, Krishnaleela and Rangitharanga will be screened. The much acclaimed Thithi and Maithri will be shown again on February 1 and 2.
