ACB traps bribe-hungry PDO and Staff

Mysuru: A Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) demanding bribe in new currency from a beneficiary was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths in Hunasawadi village of Periyapatna Taluk on November 22.
PDO Chandraiah, bill collector Ramesh and peon Siddarth were collectively demanding a bribe of Rs 4000 from an Indira Awaas Scheme beneficiary Srinivas. They were demanding the amount to clear a bill related to house construction from Srinivas in new currency notes. Srinivas had complained to the ACB, who trapped the GP official and staff members while taking a bribe of Rs 2000.

ACB Superintendent Kavitha was seen inspecting all documents during the raid.
