Accident kills eight and injures twenty five

Mysuru: A road accident near K R Nagar claimed the lives of eight persons and left many severely injured on Tuesday. The  district in charge minister V Srinivas Prasad met the injured victims at K R hospital on Wednesday. The condition of all 25 victims is stable. K R Hospital medical superintendent B G Sagar said “all the victims are recovering and they are out of danger,” he confirmed.

Following the accident, after first aid at Krishnaraja Nagar Government Hospital in K R Nagar, all the victims were shifted to KR Hospital in city. Eight persons were killed at the spot of the accident. The deceased have been identified as Shanta (30), Kusuma (35), Shantamma (40), Varadanayaka (50), Rakshita (10), Kavya (10), Manoj (12) and Spandana (10), all native of Munjanahalli and Basavapatna.

The accident took place at Kodiayala Gate near Saligrama Town at around 7.30 pm. The mini bus, which was going from Channamgere to Munajnanhalli and tempo was coming from the opposite direction collided with each other head on.  Saligrama Police have registered case and investigating.

Dist.-in-charge Minister assures compensation

Mysuru district in-charge minister V Srinivas Prasad assured compensation for the victims in the form an ex gratia for the families for the deceased and a pension for those suffering from permanent disability on account of the accident. The Minister also assured free treatment till they recover completely.
